Did our HARD WORK pay off? 🤩 (milking star awards for our little backyard goats)
After a year of testing the DAY has arrived! Let's see who gets the top spot in our herd of miniature milking goats! 🥰
Each morning on our one acre farm in the city of Phoenix, Arizona, we start the day with milking goats, feeding pigs, and gathering eggs. We have a small plot of land, but boy, do we make the most of it. Each animal on our farm is taken care of holistically & organically. We let the mama goats raise their babies until they reach 10 weeks of age and are naturally weaned from nursing. We keep a small herd of 5-7 milking goats, mainly the Nigerian Dwarf breed, although we still have the queen of the herd, Luna, our Nubian goat. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, cream, and we use it in all sorts of baking & cooking. We love that we can walk into our backyard and gather food. It's the best feeling ever!
After the morning chores, we usually tend to the pond -- we're always adding new pond plants and fish to maintain the delicate ecosystem of our natural swimming pool. Our backyard farm is full of adventures, and we're so happy to share our farm vlog with you. Hopefully you can feel inspired to grow something of your own, or care for an animal with kindness like we strive to do. Thanks for watching!

We're in SoCal and get some pretty brutal sun, but my corn (Green dent) has thrived with LESS water. Corn planted in places that would get water once a day failed to thrive. The corn in places without any water or small volumes of water that I would hand carry were tall, had plenty of ears an as long as I helped them pollenate had plentiful kernels. If you try corn again, plant it somewhere super dry!
Ella carpenter3 oy oldin
I love willow!! I loved her since she was born!!
Emilia Pełkowska3 oy oldin
I love your videos!
Elizabeth Banet3 oy oldin
You could strain the wet stuff so it's not as runny. What about putting the wet food on something flat, with no sides? Or maybe when you mix the minerals in the wet it will make it not so wet. Mix the minerals and stuff in and bake them into "treats." Then you could make different sizes. For instance mix what you need Winnie to have in the pumpkin and bake in all one shape or size for her, that way you know each goat got the stuff they need.

Maybe you could try planting a couple of corn plants every two weeks for a year, working your way along a garden bed, then after a year you'll know when to plant them to get the most growth. The next year you can plant them all at that time of the year and hopefully get the best harvest possible?
My E'klectic Life3 oy oldin
It might not have been the treats some of the goats might not have liked the bowls.
JJ Jacobson3 oy oldin
Taste-testing was fun!! With puppies, we tend to allow 2 or 3 to taste at the same time; it's manageable. Putting the bowls down on the ground, with some pups, works better; it's less 'confrontational', even tho we don't see it that way... Maybe the goats would agree? LOL

Wait is Zoro named after the Zoro from one piece?

Jessica Mitchell3 oy oldin
I love your vedeos
Peggy Ann Parkes3 oy oldin
You need to hill up your corn. It will put out more roots, making it sturdier, and give it more nutrition. Try again -- corn is tricky.
Cheryl Fraunhofer3 oy oldin
It sounded like your pig would like to clean out those bowls of pumpkin, banana, and applesauce! Great video. Love the goats, especially the adorable babies.

Leave dose poor goat's alone
Darleen DeHaven3 oy oldin
Have you looked up or heard about companion gardening? I think your corn is not getting enough nitrogen. If you plant beans with your corn, the beans will supply the corn with the nitrogen they need.

There was an add for milk on this video

Love your vidoes so much thank you for using your time to make these wonderful videos 😊
The Duckling Homestead and Gardens3 oy oldin
You could try getting the goats used to the pumpkin or whatever by maybe adding in a spoonful to their dry food as you milk them, and maybe a few added to the bottom of the outside hay feeder for the mommas and the babies and then in a dish with dry food for the bucks that maybe you use once a week or something like that specifically for adding the source.
Origami and Craft and Vlogs With Juned Qureshi3 oy oldin

Willow and Zorro will make such beautiful and nice kids! If you keep a doe of their babies (if you breed them) they will be off the charts!!!!

You can try to grow 4-5 rows=25+plants, with a tightly planted corn patch so the crop can pollinate....
Linda Gullage3 oy oldin
They are chill just like Fern and very good eaters so sweet. Congrats. on the milking stars

I never get any notifications anymore but I went looking and found this video and I am so glad! I am having a major life change right now and trying to adapt to my new normal. I appreciate the happy content!
Andrea Christine3 oy oldin
Maybe this is a crazy suggestion, but you know how if you put breast milk on a babies nose, it makes breast feeding easier? Well, what if when the were babies you exposed them to pumpkin and banana in a similar way? Maybe they’d be more interested layer in life. Idk though 😊
Elise Benedum3 oy oldin
Please heart my comment. I am such a big fan. I have been watching you for a long time. Btw, i love the way you say "onion."
Emily Johns3 oy oldin
I’m so glad you guys uploaded today as I have been doing my mock GCSEs and have had two full days of exams which had been really stressful. This is a good way to relax. Thank you
blueumbreon443 oy oldin
Maybe the goats would like mashed peas instead?
ClearlyLon3 oy oldin
New names for stella's kids that I really likee!!! - Spice - Strawberry - Solar - Sharkie - Shyla - Shelly Hope you like them!!!
Magdalene Henriette Thuv3 oy oldin
You should have garnished the bowls with a leaf, maybe they would have been more interested in tasting the different options?😂
LYNNE CHAPMAN3 oy oldin
I love the testing of the soft food. Una was like no way. I love how the milk testing is going. Have a great week
Anonymous Blah3 oy oldin
Dos Fern stell kicks???
Sandra Ramirez3 oy oldin
Are you guys going to keep the baby goat.
I like leaves3 oy oldin
Willow !
Christine Dehn3 oy oldin
Treats are something that take some getting used to. How about raisins or fruit leather? Not wet, they can try them without having them pushed in their faces, and if they decide they like them you can take it from there.
Amelia Mathis3 oy oldin
in my eyes Fern look small compared Willow and the other goats.
Amelia Mathis3 oy oldin
I love when Weed'em and Reap make 20 min videos
Kitty Mikk3 oy oldin
There’s no captions available for the video :/ I rely mainly on captions to better understand what is being said.
Judy Reynolds3 oy oldin
Love the longer video!! Y’all are always sweet and entertaining as is your herd of goats and flock of chickens! We have silkies d/t hatch in 2 weeks!,
joyce kelley3 oy oldin
Do you milk the goats all the time, even when they're pregnant?
joyce kelley3 oy oldin
I think Winston said,"I am protecting the girls from the bowl, and I don't like anything but girls!"
Marianne Froholdt3 oy oldin
The chicken like it😉
Emilio Zertuche3 oy oldin
We love your videos, it's funny how you add a G to Onion and subtract a G in words ending in ing, such as Milkin and Feedin
