I do not mean for this to be negative or rude at all, I’m just slightly confused as to what breed Salem is and why you have to desensitize her to the animals. I’ve never had to do that with my collies, they are always SO gentle and friendly to everything they meet, Even as puppies. Maybe that’s just an extra precaution? There’s obviously nothing wrong with doing that and in fact it’s a pretty smart thing to do. I’ve just never had to do that with the particular herding breeds I’ve worked with.

Danielle the next time you have whey after making cheese you can use in place of milk when making mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, biscuits, bread, brownies, cakes the list goes on and on. You can substitute 1:1 or any variation. It makes a richer recipe. I understand why you give it to Hermione but it really makes the recipes better in my opinion. I thought maybe if you knew then you might want to try it out. Thanks for taking us along for the adventures on your farm. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated in safe. Would you recommend sheep or goats for a new homestead? I like both but sheep get sick quite easily and can have anesthesia issues, but goats are escape artists. They would be for show and milk/wool. 😁

I’ve got the same setup kind of at my farm too. Both my parents are immunocompromised and I work at a jail so I haven’t been in their half of the farmhouse or socializing with them more than just from afar in the barn yard for just under a year now. I’m lucky though that I’ve got a fully self contained apartment off the side of the farmhouse that my dad built me a few years ago when I moved home from university
