Honestly, I think it'd be easiest to just make it where the chickens can't get on the board. Make an X with a few pieces of wire, big enough you can get your hand through but the chickens can't get up.

you could install a hinged cover/lid that can lift open and closed when you need to fill the goat's food, and make it easy enough to wipe off/ rinse off if chickens poop on it.

With the names I would suggest to stay in the Universal theme: like name them after galaxies. Some examples: Aurea, Edoccia, Bea or Ryvla for the girl, and for the boy Benneton, Catron, Jasil or Zerachon. But of course you can look some names up yourself 😊

If the wire doesn't work ive seen people put fishing line, kinda like the bird spikes but instead of it being sharp. Its just tiny little pokes by the fishing line, so it doesn't hurt but rather just makes it uncomfortable to stand on.
